Terms and Conditions
Wedding Cakes and Celebration Cakes
All orders are only confirmed when the non refundable retainer fee has been paid. All retainer fees must be paid within 7 days of the booking form being sent. Dates cannot be held without a retainer fee. After 7 days, if no retainer fee has been received, we will release the date and may take another booking which may mean we are no longer able to accommodate you.
A £100 non refundable retainer fee is required to secure your booking for a wedding cake. 50% retainer fee is required for a celebration cake.
All retainer fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Cleared payment of the entire balance must be received no later than 6 weeks before the cake is required in the case of wedding cakes, and one week before collection date for celebration cakes. Cleared payment of the entire balance must be received by the due date for work on your cake to be completed. Once the balance has been paid it is not refundable or transferable.
If the £50 Save the Date option is chosen this is deducted from the final balance. The Save the Date payment is non refundable and non transferable .
In the event of non-payment of the balance, we reserve the right to cancel the order and the retainer fee is forfeited.
Cake orders which are cancelled at short notice (within 6 weeks of the event), will still be charged for in full, as we are rarely able to rebook dates at such short notice. Any work already carried out or items ordered in for your order are also chargeable.
During your consultation, we will sketch out the design of your cake. This sketch remains the property of Buttercup Cakes until the £100 retainer fee has bee paid. Unfortunately we do not allow you to photograph the sketch during the consultation unless the retainer fee has been paid.
Where possible we will accommodate changes you wish to make to your cake order but this may incur additional cost. No changes can be made less than 6 weeks prior to delivery/collection.
