Our Wedding Cakes

Every Cake Bespoke

“Thank you so much for making such a lovely and memorable cake. We hope to go to many more occasions at which there is a Buttercup Cake”

Your wedding cake is probably the most important cake you will ever have and is the centrepiece of your wedding reception. We love to make wedding cakes and offer a bespoke service to create the cake of your dreams. Whatever your preference – luxury, traditional, contemporary, elegant, vintage, romantic – we aim to work with you to match your cake to the colour and theme of your wedding. We would be delighted to discuss your wedding cake with you and offer a design and tasting consultation, by appointment, at our lovely studio.  Over a cup of tea and cake samples, we can take time to get to know you and your wedding plans so we can design your perfect cake. There is a charge of £30 for this, which is deducted from the cost of your cake if you book your cake with us.  If you are unable to come for a consultation, we are also able to do videocall consultations and post Tasting Boxes direct to you door.

A small deposit of £100 will reserve your date in my diary.

We serve Cheshire, Derbyshire, Merseyside, Lancashire, Staffordshire, Yorkshire and beyond and are honoured to be recommended by some of the finest wedding venues, including:

Wedding Cake Portion Guide

Most people serve a finger size portion of wedding cake (1” x 1”) as part of the evening celebrations. Our cakes are a generous 5” deep, so this is a perfect size to serve. The cakes can be cut into larger dessert size portions (2” x 1”) if you prefer, but this will give approximately half the amount of portions shown in the guide. We are happy to advise on the size of cake you will require for your number of guests

There is a charge for this service, based on mileage – please ask for details.

If you prefer to collect the cake from Buttercup Cakes, it will be in a transportation box and instruction for transportation, storage and set up will be provided. Please note that once collected, the cake is the responsibility of the customer and we are not liable for any damage thereafter.

When should I order my wedding cake?

It is never too soon to order your wedding cake, and for summer weddings in particular, we highly recommend booking your cake at least 12 months in advance, as we do get booked up very quickly.  Just a small deposit of £100 will reserve your date in my diary.

Favours

We offer a range of wedding favours which not only look beautiful, but are delicious too. Personalised and decorated biscuits, mini cupcakes, macarons make lovely place settings, thank you presents and favours.

Design and Tasting Consultations

We offer a design and tasting consultation, by appointment, at our studio. You will have the opportunity to taste a selection of cake flavours and we can discuss your wedding cake requirements in detail. If you have any colour samples, invitations, design themes etc, please bring them with you. We can advise on style and the size of cake to suit the number of guests. Don’t worry if you don’t know what you’d like; we have a wealth of knowledge and experience and will guide you through the process, but always with your wishes in mind. We will then sketch out your cake design and provide a quotation based on the design.  A consultation usually lasts about an hour and we are currently accommodating a maximum of 2 people.  There is a charge of £30 for this consultation, which is deducted from the cost of your wedding cake (on orders over £600), if you decide to book your cake with us.
